Christine Hellyar’s connection with nature has long been an influence on her work. These magical sculptures are transformations of plants gathered from the beaches of North Taranaki where she grew up. Extraordinary miniature creatures evolved to sit upon these natural forms and were then cast in bronze. Hellyar says “I try to make my work in the landscape dance, fly or float.”
